Al-‘Adl – The Absolutely Just
Al-‘Adl – The Absolutely Just
Al-‘Adl is the One who is perfectly just. Not a single action, word, tear, intention, or injustice escapes Him. His justice is complete, balanced, and free from error, bias, or cruelty.
This name settles the heart that feels wronged.
For the sister who was misunderstood.
For the one who was treated unfairly and never defended.
For the one whose kindness was taken for granted.
For the one who did everything “right” and still felt hurt.
Al-‘Adl saw it all.
Allah’s justice is not rushed, but it is precise. It is not always immediate, but it is inevitable. He does not forget what people do, and He does not lose the record of what you endured with patience.
What makes Al-‘Adl so comforting is this: Allah is never unjust, even when life feels deeply unfair.
Sometimes justice is delayed because Allah is protecting your heart.
Sometimes justice looks like removal rather than revenge.
Sometimes justice is not taking back what was lost, but replacing it with something purer and safer.
And sometimes justice is reserved for the Day when nothing is hidden and nothing is denied.
Al-‘Adl also gently corrects us. It reminds us to be honest with ourselves. To examine where we may have been unfair, even unintentionally. To speak truth without cruelty. To act with integrity even when no one is watching.
And most importantly, it teaches us to release the burden of “making things right” on our own.
You do not need to prove what happened.
You do not need to seek revenge to feel whole.
You do not need to carry resentment to honour your pain.
Justice belongs to Allah — and He carries it better than you ever could.
Reflection for today:
Where in my life do I feel something was unfair or unresolved?
Am I trusting Allah to bring justice, or am I holding onto pain that is not mine to carry
How can I reflect Al-‘Adl today through fairness, honesty, and gentleness?
A Du’ā to connect with today:
“Ya ‘Adl, I place every injustice, every hurt, and every unanswered question in Your hands. Judge between us with truth, and settle my heart with Your perfect justice.”
Nothing was missed.
Nothing was overlooked.
And with Al-‘Adl, everything will be set right — in the most perfect way.
