Intentions for Ramadhān
Ramadhān is a month of receiving—of allowing Allah’s mercy, love, and peace to enter our hearts. Our intentions should not only focus on doing more but also on embracing the tranquility and healing that Ramadhān brings. Alongside fasting, prayer, and charity, let’s set intentions to slow down, let go of guilt, be present, and trust that even the simplest acts of worship—done with sincerity—are deeply valued by Allah. This Ramadhān, may we receive, may we heal, and may we draw closer to our Rabb in a way that lasts beyond the month itself.
When Du’ās Feel Unanswered: Trusting in Allah’s Wisdom and Mercy
When our du’ās seem unanswered, it’s easy to feel discouraged—but Allah always responds, just not always in the way or time we expect. His wisdom surpasses our understanding, and what may seem like a delay is often a form of protection, redirection, or preparation for something better. This piece explores how our thoughts shape our connection with Allah, the dangers of despair, and the importance of unwavering trust in His plan. Instead of giving in to doubt, we must hold onto faith, continue making du’a, and believe that every prayer is heard and counted. Allah’s mercy is limitless, and His response is always perfect.
I Met My Younger Self for Coffee
This took a lot of courage to pen together and even more courage to share.
I am not used to sharing something so personal and deep and it is most certainly out of my comfort zone.
I hope it resonates with those experiencing or have have experienced something similar and inspires and brings hope to whoever needs it.
Ramadhān: A Month of Realignment and Inner Transformation
Ramadhān is more than a month of fasting—it is a divine opportunity to slow down, reflect, and realign with our true purpose. It unveils our inner selves, separating sincere self-motivation from external influences, and teaches us that true growth starts from within. By fostering self-awareness, spiritual grounding, and conscious engagement with the world, Ramadhān helps us overcome mental and spiritual obstacles, reminding us that transformation is not about waiting for the perfect moment but about making intentional shifts in our hearts and minds.
The Power and Blessings of Surah Al-Baqarah
Surah Al-Baqarah is a divine source of protection, healing, and abundant blessings. The Prophet ﷺ emphasised its immense power—reciting it shields homes from Shaytan, brings barakah to life, and removes hardships. It is a fortress against spiritual harm, a means of divine healing, and a pathway to deeper connection with Allah.
Incorporate it into your daily life by reciting it in parts, playing it in your home, and using its blessings in everyday routines. Experience firsthand how this powerful surah transforms your life, fills your heart with peace, and attracts divine mercy.
The Weight of Judgment: How It’s Destroying Us as an Ummah
Judgment has been breaking generations, leaving people feeling unworthy and overwhelmed. Islam is a Deen of mercy, yet many experience pressure and unrealistic expectations from others, leading to emotional and spiritual harm. Instead of shaming, let’s be more empathetic, encouraging, and merciful—just as we hope for Allah’s mercy. This post is inspired by those feeling unloved by Allah due to others’ harsh words. Remember, your worth is with Him, not people. Let’s build an ummah that nurtures, not repels.
The Truest Form of Freedom
True freedom isn’t found in wealth, status, or the absence of responsibility—it is found in freeing yourself from the fear of other people’s judgments. When you stop living for their approval and align your life with your values and faith, you become truly liberated. People’s opinions are fleeting, but seeking Allah’s pleasure anchors you in a freedom no one can take away. Let go of the fear, live with sincerity, and embrace the courage to be unapologetically yourself.
Recognising When Du’ā is Answered
We often pour our hearts into du’ā, asking Allah for ease, guidance, and blessings—but do we pause to recognise when He answers? Sometimes, His response is subtle: a burden lifted, a silent wish fulfilled, a change we barely notice. True gratitude lies in acknowledging these moments, for when we recognise His answers, our faith deepens, and our hearts remain connected to Him.
The Optimism of Islam: Reclaiming a Positive Mindset
Islam is a religion of optimism, yet many believers find themselves trapped in negativity. Life’s struggles, societal pressures, and fear-based narratives often overshadow the hope that Islam instills in us. But our faith reminds us that with every hardship comes ease, that Allah’s mercy is greater than our mistakes, and that no good deed goes unnoticed. True faith is not about expecting a perfect life but trusting that Allah is always with us, guiding us through every challenge. Hope is an act of worship—when we place it in Allah, we will never be disappointed.
Knowing and Understanding Allah: The Key to Following Through on Istikhara
When we struggle to follow the answer of our istikhara, it often stems from not fully understanding Allah’s wisdom, mercy, and knowledge. The more we know Him—as Al-‘Aleem (The All-Knowing) and Al-Hakeem (The Most Wise)—the easier it becomes to surrender with confidence. Trusting His guidance isn’t a loss; it’s divine protection, leading us toward what is truly best for us, even when we can’t yet see it.
The Danger of Ignoring the Guidance of Istikhara
Istikhara is a divine gift, guiding us toward what is best. Yet, when we ignore the answer due to fear, doubt, or personal desires, we often learn the lesson in a much harder way. The very thing Allah was protecting us from unfolds, leading to heartbreak, loss, or regret.
However, even in our mistakes, Allah teaches us. The hardship that follows can become a greater lesson—one that deepens our faith and reliance on Him. True trust in istikhara is not just seeking guidance but having the strength to follow it, knowing that Allah’s wisdom surpasses our limited understanding.
You Want Peace? Go Straight to the Source.
True peace isn’t something we chase—it’s something given by As-Salām, the Source of Peace.
It’s not found in people, success, or perfect circumstances, but in the presence of Allah. When we stop seeking peace in the world and turn directly to Him, our hearts find the tranquility they’ve been longing for. You want peace? Let Allah place it in your heart.
You Don’t Have to Do It All—And That’s Okay
In a world of constant comparison, it’s easy to feel like we’re not doing enough. But worship isn’t about doing everything—it’s about doing what you can with sincerity. Your path to Allah will look different from others, and that’s okay. Free yourself from the pressure of expectation and focus on what truly connects you to Him.
The Seasons of Growth: Knowing When to Move Forward
Growth comes in seasons, and not every space that once nurtured us will continue to do so. Sometimes, we mistake comfort for progress, staying in places that no longer challenge or inspire us. True growth requires awareness to recognise when a season has ended and courage to step forward, trusting that Allah will guide us to new opportunities for transformation. Reflect on where you are—are you still growing, or is it time to embrace a new chapter?
The Danger of Desperation in Du’ā
Desperation creates resistance, pushing away what we seek. True surrender, however, aligns us with divine wisdom, allowing what is meant for us to come effortlessly. Trust in Allah, let go of panic, and embrace the peace that comes with surrender.
The Illusion of Assumptions
We often assume we know someone’s story based on what we see, but most times, we’re far from the truth. Silence isn’t always sadness, solitude isn’t loneliness, and growth doesn’t have to be loud. Instead of assuming, let’s choose curiosity, understanding, and genuine connection—because reality is rarely what we imagine it to be.
Purify Your Heart and Forgive Others – A Path to Allah’s Mercy
As the blessed night of the 15th of Sha’bān approaches, take a moment to cleanse your heart from grudges and resentment. This is a night of divine mercy, where Allah forgives all except those who hold onto malice. Let go of the past, forgive others, and open your heart to Allah’s boundless forgiveness. A pure heart invites peace, healing, and a deeper connection with your Creator. Don’t let negativity hold you back—embrace this opportunity for spiritual renewal.
The Power of Intuition: A Gift from Allah
When you strengthen your connection with Allah, your heart becomes more attuned to His guidance. Intuition is not just a feeling—it’s a gift from Him, a way He protects and directs you. A purified heart recognises His signs, guiding you toward what benefits your soul and away from harm. Trust in Allah, pay attention to the signs He sends, and know that when you rely on Him, you are never alone.
The Power of Seeking Forgiveness
Asking Allah for forgiveness is more than just seeking forgiveness—it is a way to reconnect with Him, renew your faith, and invite His mercy into your life. Istighfār cleanses the heart, removes burdens, and unlocks blessings. No matter how far you’ve strayed, Allah’s doors of mercy remain open. Keep turning back to Him.
