You Were Created Intentionally

You were never meant to be her.

You were never meant to be anyone but the soul Allah breathed into existence, carefully, intentionally, and with love.

When we look at the righteous women Allah honoured, we do not see one single mould.

We see a garden of hearts.

Each one different.

Each one radiant in her own way.

You will find Hawwa (AS), the mother of all humanity, created with tenderness, patience, and resilience.

Through her, life on earth began, and through her, we learn that mistakes do not define us — returning to Allah does.

You will find Hajar (AS), running between the hills of Safa and Marwa, her heart beating with desperation and faith.

Alone in a barren desert, yet not abandoned, she became a symbol of unwavering tawakkul that Muslims will emulate until the end of time.

You will find Sarah (AS), embodying quiet strength and deep faith through years of longing, trusting Allah’s promise even when it seemed impossible.

Her patience was her power.

You will find Maryam bint ’Imran (AS), the pure and devoted soul, chosen above all women of her time.

She endured isolation, false accusations, and immense trials — yet her devotion never wavered.

Her silence spoke louder than words, and her du’ā reached the Heavens.

You will find Aasiyah (AS), the wife of Pharaoh, living in a palace of oppression yet keeping her heart completely free.

Her courage to choose Allah over luxury, her steadfastness under torment, made her among the four greatest women of all time.

You will find Umm Salamah (RA), wise, composed, and insightful.

When others hesitated, her wisdom gently guided even the Prophet ﷺ during Hudaybiyyah.

Her mind was sharp, her heart was steady, her presence was an anchor of calm in turbulent moments.

You will find Khadijah bint Khuwaylid (RA)

A woman of quiet strength, a pillar in silence.

She wasn’t one who sought the public eye, but she carried the Prophet ﷺ with her nurturing soul and wisdom when the world misunderstood him.

You will find ‘Ā’ishah bint Abi Bakr (RA)

Brilliant, curious, outspoken, lively.

Her sharp memory and spirited personality were not flaws but gifts that preserved the words and practices of the Prophet ﷺ for generations.

You will find Fatimah bint Muhammad (RA)

Soft and shy, yet carrying an unbreakable inner strength.

Her resilience was hidden, her patience silent, her devotion a perfume that filled unseen spaces.

You will find Asmā’ bint Abi Bakr (RA)

Resilient and fearless, carrying food across treacherous paths to serve the Prophet ﷺ during the hijrah.

Her courage was not loud; it was steady, unwavering, sure.

You will find Nusaybah bint Ka’ab (RA)

A warrior of spirit and body, fighting with her own hands to protect the Prophet ﷺ at Uhud.

Her bravery teaches us that standing firm is an act of worship too.

You will find Umm Sulaym (RA)

The nurturing soul who raised Anas ibn Malik (RA) with love and faith, understanding that building the hearts of the next generation is a victory too.

Each one was so different.

Each one carried her own temperament, her own light, her own way of loving and serving Allah.

And yet, every single one was beloved to Allah.

Every single one was honoured by the Prophet ﷺ.

There was no one “ideal” personality to aspire to.

No expectation to be louder if you were soft.

No shame in being bolder if you were brave.

No need to bury your spirit or silence your quietness.

Their strength was not in being the same.

Their strength was in their sincerity.

And so it is with you.

You were not created to erase yourself.

You were not made to be a copy of someone else.

You were made to refine the soul Allah entrusted to you, to beautify it, purify it, and offer it back to Him.

If you are soft, let your softness heal hearts.

If you are firm, let your firmness protect the truth.

If you are shy, let your shyness shield you with haya’.

If you are bold, let your boldness call others to goodness.

If you are nurturing, raise nations with your care.

If you are brave, stand for justice without fear.

If you are reflective, let your stillness connect you deeply with Allah.

If you are full of energy, spread life and light wherever you go.

Every temperament, when directed towards Allah, becomes a path to Jannah.

It is not about changing your nature.

It is about channelling it towards what pleases Him.

Because when Allah said,

“We have created you in the best of forms,”

He meant you.

Exactly as you are.

Exactly as He intended.

So breathe.

Stop wishing you were different.

Stop measuring your worth by someone else’s gifts.

Walk your path, not in comparison, but in deep, sacred sincerity.

The Ummah does not need more copies.

It needs you, fully, sincerely, beautifully, exactly as Allah created you.

And that is enough.

That is sacred.

That is your worship.

May Allah allow us to embrace who we are,

to honour how others are and to refine every part of ourselves for His sake.

Ameen.
