The Remedy for a Restless Heart: Salawāt upon the Prophet ﷺ
One of the most soothing and powerful remedies for a stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed mind is the simple yet profound act of sending Salawāt upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Why?
Because every time you say:
“Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammad wa ‘ala aali Muhammad”
(O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad)
Or even the shortest form:
SallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam
Allah sends ten mercies upon _you_ in return.
Ten.
Ten moments of Divine mercy embracing your heart.
Ten waves of tranquillity washing over your stress.
Ten reasons for your worries to soften and your soul to find rest.
Salawāt is more than a dhikr, it’s a spiritual tranquilliser.
It calms the chaos within.
It realigns your heart with peace.
It draws the mercy of Allah upon you like rain on dry earth.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah will send blessings upon him tenfold.”
(Muslim)
So fill your heart and home with Salawāt.
Say it when your chest feels tight.
Say it when you feel lost or scattered.
Say it when your du’ās feel heavy on your tongue.
Say it as a gift of love to the one who sacrificed for us, our beloved Prophet ﷺ.
And watch how Allah places ease in your affairs, comfort in your heart, and barakah in your day.
Let today be filled with Salawāt.
Let it be your healing.
Let it be your calm.
“Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who believe, send blessings upon him and greet him with peace.”
(Qur’ān 33:56)
And as you recite Salawāt today, make a heartfelt intention and du’ā for peace, protection, and ‘Āfiyah for the people of Palestine and all those suffering in the Ummah.
May our Salawāt become a source of light and relief for us and for them.
Āmeen.
