The Distance Between You and the Throne
Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal was once asked,
“What is the distance between us and the Throne of Allah?”
He replied,
“A sincere du‘ā from a sincere heart.”
So many of us think that closeness to Allah is far away.
That it takes years of perfect worship or being free of mistakes.
But this statement reminds us:
It only takes a moment.
A moment of sincerity.
A moment where your heart opens and you speak to Him truly.
Where you hold nothing back.
Where you’re not worried about fancy words or being “worthy.”
You just call out.
From the rawness of your soul.
That is what bridges the distance.
Your du‘ā doesn’t have to be long.
Your tears don’t need an audience.
Your pain doesn’t need to be fully processed.
All that matters is that you turn to Him sincerely.
With your heart present.
With your hope real.
With your love and need for Him more than anything else.
Let this reminder soften you.
The Throne of Allah isn’t far.
He is closer than you realise.
And your next du‘ā could be the one that reaches the Heavens.
The one that changes your Qadr.
The one that is heard by Al-Mujeeb, the One who responds.
The One who never turns away a sincere heart.
So speak.
Whisper.
Cry.
Trust.
And let your heart find its way back Home.
