Your Relationship with Allah Is Unique And That’s the Beauty of It

Every soul has its own rhythm, its own story, and its own journey back to its Creator. And because of that, every person’s relationship with Allah is deeply personal and entirely unique.

Some connect with Allah most deeply in sujood, their face to the ground, their tears soaking the prayer mat. Others find their hearts come alive in the quiet recitation of Qur’ān, or while walking in nature, speaking to Allah like a friend. Some feel closest to Him in the early hours of Tahajjud, while others find their peace in constant dhikr throughout the day. Some pour their hearts out in du’ā, while others feel His nearness in silent reflection.

There is no single path. There is no “one right way” to feel close to your Lord.

So do not compare your relationship with Allah to anyone else’s.

What works for them might not stir your soul—and what lights up your heart may not move theirs. That’s okay. That’s the beauty of our Rabb: He meets each one of us exactly where we are. He knows how our hearts function. He created the softness in your tears, the fire in your determination, the quiet in your longing.

And never judge someone whose connection with Allah looks different from yours. You don’t know what private moments of worship they have, what battles they are fighting internally, or how much they’ve grown spiritually even if it doesn’t match your expectations. Some people whisper to Allah in ways you cannot hear. Some serve Him through patience, others through action, others through constant repentance.

Instead of comparing or judging—nurture.

Nurture your own relationship with Allah like a garden: water it daily with sincerity, patience, and love. Protect it from the weeds of comparison and the pests of judgment. Cultivate it quietly and let it bloom in your own time.

When you make your connection with Allah deeply personal, deeply intentional, and deeply sincere—you’ll stop measuring it against others. Because you’ll know: this is between me and the One who knows me better than I know myself.

Be content with your journey. Let your heart rest in the fact that Allah is not looking for perfection—He is looking for connection. Keep building it. Keep returning to it. Keep talking to Him in your own way. And you’ll find a closeness that no one else can define or diminish.

Your connection with Allah doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.

It just has to be real.
