Allah’s Love Through People

Sometimes the love of Allah doesn’t come to us directly in the form we expect. Instead, He places it gently in the hands of others. It could be a kind word when you’re feeling low, someone remembering you with a thoughtful message, a small gift, or even someone making space for you when you walk into a room. These are not coincidences. They are signs of His care and mercy reaching you through people.

Our beloved Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever does not thank people, has not thanked Allah.”

This hadith reminds us that gratitude is not only for what Allah gives directly, but also for the way He sends goodness through the people around us.

Think of the friend who checks up on you when you’re silent, the neighbour who drops off food unexpectedly, or the stranger who holds the door open when your hands are full. All these moments are Allah’s way of saying, “I see you, and I love you.”

Learning to accept these gestures with grace is an act of worship in itself. It is not pride, nor is it dependence. It is gratitude. To say “thank you” with a smile is to acknowledge that Allah is the true giver, and the person was simply chosen as the means.

Next time someone offers you help, resists the urge to say “no, I’m fine.” Instead, remind yourself: this was written for me, long before it reached my hands. Let me accept it with humility, and let my gratitude rise to Allah, the One who inspired their heart.

Gratitude doesn’t only live in our prayers, it shows in how we receive the small mercies that reach us every single day.
